Senior BI Engineer
Job Description
Location: Lewisville, TX
Position Type: Full-Time
Hours: 9:00am to 5:00pm Weekdays (Monday – Friday)
The Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer plays a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining BI solutions that help organizations make data-driven decisions. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and provide analytical insights through dashboards, reports, and data models. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data warehousing, ETL processes, and BI tools, as well as strong problem-solving skills and a passion for data analytics.
Minimum Degree Requirement: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology or Engineering or closely related field.
Minimum Work Experience: 2 years of experience
Key Responsibilities
BI Solution Development & Maintenance
- Design and develop robust BI solutions using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- Create interactive dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights for business users.
- Optimize and maintain existing BI solutions to enhance performance and usability.
Data Management & ETL Processes
- Design, develop, and implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for data ingestion from multiple sources.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines and workflows to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
Work with cloud-based data solutions such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Data Warehousing & Modeling
- Design and maintain data warehouse structures and relational database schemas.
- Develop efficient data models that support reporting and analytical needs.
- Optimize database performance by writing efficient queries and indexing strategies.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand reporting and analytics needs.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior BI engineers and analysts.
- Work closely with data scientists and analysts to ensure consistency in data reporting.
Performance Monitoring & Optimization
- Continuously monitor and improve BI tools, dashboards, and reporting solutions.
- Implement automation techniques for BI processes to improve efficiency.
- Ensure data security and governance best practices are followed.
Technical Experience
- 2 years of experience in BI development, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
- 2 years of proven expertise in using BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- 1 year of Hands-on experience with cloud-based data solutions like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- 1 year of experience in designing and maintaining data warehouse structures and relational database schemas.
- 1 year of proficiency in SQL for writing efficient queries and optimizing database performance.
- 1 year of experience with ETL tools and processes for data ingestion and transformation.
- 1 year of knowledge of data modeling techniques to support reporting and analytics.
- 1 year of knowledge with automation techniques for BI processes.
